Reflecting on FOREFRONT Charity's Past 5 Years

I can’t believe we are at year 5 already! The years have flown by and when I reflect on how much the organization has grown and all that we have accomplished, I am filled with pride knowing that no time was wasted and good work continues to be done. It is so gratifying to be a part of a team where each member is faithful with their talents, skills, time and energy - using these things to positively impact countless lives across the world. As they say: teamwork truly makes the dream work.

When FOREFRONT Charity started 5 years ago, I was one of the many supporters who donated and followed the team’s journey. I was always inspired by the team's hard work and passion to serve others. In November 2017, I took advantage of an opportunity to join the team’s annual trip to India which ended up being both an eye opening and deeply touching experience for me. I have travelled to many countries in my life and have had many unique experiences abroad but what stood out to me most for this particular trip was the team. I went on the trip with 6 other team members, and wow it was such a great mix of people of different backgrounds, personalities and strengths. Although everyone was so different, their passion to serve others in need is what brought them all together. During that trip, I observed and participated in a ground breaking ceremony for FOREFRONT Charity's first school and got to meet all the local partners and people on the ground helping to build the school. Witnessing all these people coming together with one common goal made me realize that this is something I wanted to partake in.

I soon joined the team in January 2018 and have been an official FOREFRONT Charity team member since. The journey so far has been fun, challenging, and rewarding with many changes along the way. I first joined as a member of the Development team and now I’m serving as the Chief Operating Officer. Through the years and all the growth we have gone through as a team, I have seen that there is one thing that never changes and that is our team’s passion to help others using the resources and skills that we have. Making a difference in the world by developing communities and future leaders is much easier when you have a united team. From our domestic staff to our local partners abroad to all of you who have supported us along the way, let’s keep believing in a brighter future and doing the good work.
