Why did you join EWH?
Justin: I initially joined EWH because when I arrived at Cornell, I was looking to get a practical engineering experience building medical devices. I stayed because I saw the team‘s ability to have a significant impact on the lives of others. Being able to work across engineering disciplines in a team of passionate students drives me to believe that we can make a difference. Knowing that we have this capacity to a make tangible impact is empowering - it makes me want to work harder every year.
Kate: I joined EWH to learn what it means to be an engineer. My participation in the project team has offered me a wonderful opportunity to learn about the development of biomedical devices and more generally about public healthcare. I am grateful to have been given the chance to work alongside an amazing group of creative and passionate students that motivate me to learn and challenge myself.
Peaky: I joined EWH because for two main reasons. First, I wanted to find a family who I could share my time, energy, and passion with. I wanted to find something and someone who I could dedicate myself to. Second, I like any other naive dreamer wanted to help change the world. Realistically, I understand that change may be small, but that didn‘t matter. Taking action to change the world no matter how small, was something that mattered to me and EWH provided that opportunity for me. I have since graduated, but I will never for get all the memories I have gained working with this amazing group of people!
