Uncertainty and setback.
People, as individuals and members of groups, are experiencing change and loss.
We don't know what the future will bring. Some things we can influence, others we cannot.
At the beginning of the shutdowns, several team members expressed fears. Our progress had been derailed. At times, we thought supporters and allies would taper.
Ultimately, we recognized the need for hope to envision and work for our better future.
Thanks to our leadership and key supporters, our community came together, doubling down on our efforts. They've paid off.
Despite losses and the unpredictability faced by our community, we're as committed as ever. We have faith in our efforts, constantly tweaking our approach to fit changes on the ground.
In the past few months, FOREFRONT progressed toward completion of projects in construction and education to make FOREFRONT School a high-quality educational opportunity for children in rural India who otherwise lack access.
First, FOREFRONT School was largely completed, with only additional utilities and annexes remaining for our target launch in August 2020.
Second, FOREFRONT’s education team hired a school administrator who will manage the operations of FOREFRONT School; Lucy Yashoda, who has over 20 years of experience in school management, administration, and education.
Last, because of continued recruitment and advertisement for students, FOREFRONT has received over 40 student applications, which will soon be reviewed.
Helping communities change their course is what FOREFRONT is about. This is the time. This is the place. This is the work we will do.
